Hello.

I have sero negative RA and my consultant has also diagnosed fibromyalgia. Do the two go hand in hand?

Have also got neutropenia with a count of 0.85. I have been taken off all RA drugs (leflunomide and sulfasalazine)
Had an 11 day drug wash out and bloods sent to Germany for testing, not sure why. Anyone else had similar probs and any info
regarding fibromyalgia would be welcomed.

Thanx

They are all inflammatory conditions so whilst having one is no gurantee of another you can bet the odds are higher

Hi Rosie

I have RA and Fibromyalgia too. They do commonly come hand in hand. With the Fibro I find the fatigue is the worst. Apparently Fibro stops you sleeping deeply (won't go into the technical) so I take Amiltryptilene to help with the sleep and fatigue. Also take 'One-Alpha' which is vitamin D - made a great difference and feel less sleepy.

Another Fibro problem you may read about is Fibro-fog - affects memory. Makes me drop things too as my hands kind of forget they are holding something. It isn't too bad at the moment.

I found this site quite helpful http://www.ukfibromyalgia.com/ along with NHS Choices.

I would definitely recommend you look into Amiltryptiline and One-Alpha to help with Fibromyalgia.

Hi Angie

Thanks for the reply and helpful info. I drop things all the time!I will enquire about Amitryptiline and One-Alpha. Having weekly blood tests. Suffering from headaches but am
putting that down to the sudden stopping of all RA drugs. I am going to look at the link you sent.

Many thanks to you and all who have replied

Was very excited reading this Jenni. Our retired clinical lead rheumy at Bolton was heavily involved in Fm and a top expert in the UK. He will be so thrilled about this as he longed for a breakthrough. Fab man and much missed.

Hi Angie

RA drugs are being sorted now - a mixture of Hydroxychloroquine which I haven't had before, Sulfasalazine and Mtx injections again but a lower dose in the hope it won't affect my liver.

Hoping to see GP re Fibro next week. Elbows in particular are so painful and are more comfy when bent and pressed in against my body - so dont know if that's the RA or the Fibro.

I'm having a few days away in Derbyshire with a friend from work so looking forward to that.

Thanks for all the replies - it's great having another family out there BigGrin

xx
